Live for a Change

I dropped out of high school. I got into drinking and dealing drugs. I became addicted to cocaine. I lost my wife and daughter and everything I owned. I began stealing to support my habit. I ended up hunted by the police, by bounty hunters, and by the Mexican mafia.

Then something changed.

In a high speed chase with the police, I took a 25 mph curve doing over 100 mph. I totaled my car and became paralyzed from the waist down. While I was in the hospital, my mother said something that transformed my life. I told her that during the accident I had ended up on my back looking up at the stars. She said “No son, God knocked you down and made you look up since you were not willing to.” I accepted Christ into my heart that day.

As a follower of Christ, I knew I had to make things right with the law. I turned myself in to the judge, knowing full well that I could be sentenced up to 32 years in jail. By God's grace and through the prayers of my newfound Christian family, the judge gave me 10 years of probation instead of prison.

If God's mercy is enough to turn my life around, I know he can change your life as well.
